Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she received the Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her performance on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the only child of her homemaker mother and high-ranking executive of her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood with 4 brothers. The idea of becoming a court reporter during the early years of her life, however she began modelling at high school, eventually earning commercials following her move into New York. Delaney was portrayed as a young innocent in 1981's soap-opera All My Children. Since then Delaney has been in a variety of film and television dramas. Her career as a professional has been much more lucrative than her personal life. The gifted actress was struggling to overcome alcoholism and had two marriages fail. In 2005, the actress lost custody over her only son.
