Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's first female artist for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. In October 21st, 2016 she debuted Pho, her debut EP under the label Dreamville Records. This was when she began to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 following the release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued uploading her songs online, as well as her own single Bound. In the year 2015, she performed in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on 21st July. The following year, her music circulated throughout the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some potential references to Rihanna. She was officially signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was her contribution to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018 she guest-starred on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The debut single, Whipped Cream, from the album came out the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a the music video. On November 9 she released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On the 13th of November, two brand new singles called One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a song that she performed alongside Cole on the soundtrack to Creed II on 16 November. It was then released as a standalone single in February 2019, to coincide with her debut album. The music video premiered on 20 February 2019 to go along with the track. Within one week, it had over 3,000,000 views. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK in the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
